In 2014, a group of community leaders identified a need for an organization that could continue the business advocacy and placemaking work of the Delhi Downtown Development Authority (DDA) as the DDA phases out over the next several years. The result was Holt Community Connect (HCC) – a nonprofit organization established to connect, advance, cross-promote and support Delhi organizations, business and events
Under the leadership of its executive director and board of directors, HCC works in concert with the Delhi DDA and will continue after the DDA dissolves. HCC will seek and administer funds for its work via grants, donations and bequests.
HCC is led by a board of directors and an executive director. Areas of focus include:
- Holt Connects! Panel – Shares information and increases interaction between HCC and township representatives.
- Volunteer Bureau – Works to build a pool of available volunteers to place in appropriate service positions around the community and to increase an understanding of the value of volunteerism.
- Fundraising Committee – Reviews grant applications, finds funding opportunities, seeks sponsorships and monitors disbursements of any general funds.
- Advertising & Marketing Committee–Delhi DDA – Oversees community newsletter, social media and bundled sponsorships.
Other groups under the HCC umbrella will also serve in an advisory and functional capacity: Holt Farmers Market, Holt Historical Society, Friends of the Delhi Trails and Holt Hometown Festival, and Holt-Delhi Welcome Program.
